    Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao

When visiting the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao you keep asking yourself "is it the art or the building that impresses me most?"...I couldn't decide. I was definitely smitten by the architectural details and the seemingly soft metal of the facade that reflects the light and colours of its surroundings. #exhibition #museum #architecture

    Shanghai Museum - Pottery

After reading Edmund de Waal's 'The White Road', I was intrigued by the pure white porcelain and its invention in ancient Jingdezhen, China. The Shanghai Museum has got an abundance of Jingdezhen porcelain on display. One piece more eye-catching than the other...and all of them of everlasting beauty. #museum #exhibition #Shanghai #pottery

Sneeking a peek into the new Tate Modern

On 15th of June I was able to have a look into the new building of the Tate Modern. It was a wonderful experience. Of course, the building is very modern and the view from the 10th floor is breathtaking. Yet, what intrigued me the most was the fact that the museum is/was still nearly completely empty and a lot of construction work was going on. The inside views from some of the stairways are amazing and reveal some very interesting details, such as the sloping walls or the lo

Oxford University Museum of Natural History

It really pays off to look up and admire the amazing construction work of the ceiling. The work on this building started in 1861. The design of the neo-gothic building was directly influenced by John Ruskin, the leading art-critic of the Victorian era. Very inspiring, indeed. #architecture #museum
